Cuddle With Me

Cuddle With Me
It’s getting colder outside, of that I have no doubt,
So I have an idea, I want your heart to think about,
Forget the rush and throw your schedule out the window,
Fluff up the down mattress; Can’t you hear the wind blow?
The snow will be falling soon; I’m already feeling the chill,
I’ll build a fire to keep you warm, or we could cuddle if you will,
Your nightgown could match the linens, as cute as it can be,
It won’t matter what you wear, as long as you’re next to me,
We’ll need a little privacy, so we’ll keep the curtains drawn,
We’ll talk to the wee hours and love till the break of dawn,
Nothing will be distracting; it’s our duty to help love thrive,
We’ll merge our goals and our dreams, and keep our hopes alive,
We’ll cuddle all we want; we’ll have the weekend to catch up on sleep,
We’ll whisper and laugh, for we have precious secrets to keep,
While we sleep, winter will cover the world with his art,
We will stand there together, heart to heart,
Staring voiceless for a moment to take the splendor in,
Then we will bundle up and brave the cold; out to visit kin,
We also want to visit friends and share with them our joy,
For us, winter is the most wonderful time of year to enjoy,
Later we’ll talk about our plans as we decorate the Christmas tree,
When the wind rattles the windows, I’ll hold you tight to me,
We’ll look into the future with renewed energy,
Having fun and staying in love, the way it was meant to be.
